Both Dean Barrow and Said Musa won in their respective seats -- Musa four time more
votes that all the rest combined.

From Caye Caulker:
======
Caye Caulker (Polling Area 38 & 34 this year), has the quaintest way of dealing with ballots cast. Tourists were lined up at the pier watching the BDF maritime wing boat transport Caye Caulker's box of ballots over to San Pedro for counting. One tourist was heard to mention “you would never see this kind of thing in the U.S., a ballot box being transported by boat.” “Well, you probably wouldn't see it anywhere else in the country here either” I responded. This is unique to this electoral division. In all other divisions, ballot boxes are transported over road.

An update from inside the Belize Rural South counting
station just now revealed that Patty Arceo is trailing
by a very small margin behind Manuel Heredia for the
UDP. The Caye Caulker box has not yet been counted,
however, according to the source. This one will be
interesting also...

Excerpts from Prime Minister Said Musa's Victory Speech:
"Your vote of confidence in the P.U.P. has placed a tremendous responsibility on our shoulders and we are ready for it. We will accomplish our manifesto promises...when we took office in 1998 all we had to share was hard time...now after having grown the economy we will make it that every Belizean gets a share of the pie. The P.U.P. pledge to you is that we will do even more to bring good government to Belize...my people, as we bask in the victory of historical eventful day, we have reason to be thankful. It's somewhat a bittersweet victory, we are saddened that some of our colleagues have lost, but we have won a great victory for the People's United Party. We thank the Almighty God most of all and we thank you the voters of Belize for giving us this great victory. We thank the Belizean people who's enthusiasm and encouragement inspire us...let us return to our homes and our families proud...good night and may God bless all of you."
