Just interested in all of your opinions. Who do you think has the best Conch Fritters. Best I've EVER had were at Rasta Pasta. UnfreakinBelizeable!!! Also had very good ones at Lily's, Rico's and Fido's. As far as U.S. fritters go, the ones at Buffett's Margaritaville in New Orleans are excellent. They fly their conch in fresh weekly. Killer rum drinks as well. :p
Tried to reproduce "The conch fritter" at home no Conch at home so substituted Clams actually turned out pretty good. Of course like any Belize obsessed traveler I had plenty of Marie Sharps for the recipe
Best ones I've had were at a Gumbha (spelling) Festival in Key West in the Bahamian Village. They close the street in that area and have tons of street vendors serving Caribbean food. Yum! Have yet to try Belizean ones, but will this June.
Hi BB! This is a wonderful thing! To see you compliment someone!
Really, it may sound like I'm being sarcastic towards you, but I'm not, well...... maybe a little. Maralyn does a fine job, I've followed her restaurants around for years. I've never tried the conch fritters, but everything else she has is always good. Love the curry. I'll try the fritters the next time.
