Tomorrow I'll talk to my contact at American Family Radio to ask for a website link to this forum, and for a story in one of their news or special report sections.

I'll let you know if they come through, so you can check it out.

Here's some good news from Marietta:

I called KENS-TV today and FUSSED about not having coverage and sent
them to this board. I'm now watching coverage of Ambergris Caye!!!!
Comprehensive coverage!!!!

Marietta please post messages here with news you receive from watching your local coverage. It might help some of these people to hear what's being said by the media. THANKS AGAIN [Linked Image]

Gee, Can one of you come get our stations off their collective butts?? Pensacola has nothing at all about it and I can't seem to get them interested.

Helen is doing a great job on the media front! That's 1/2 the battle...I've been working on Duke Energy, as without power the cayes will suffer for a lot longer than they should. Sending them some of the few heartfelt reports from the cayes as backup.
Gave a rash of grief to the LATIMES as they had NOTHING in the paper today...and 50K Belizeans live here in LA.

The coverage here is nil..and when the worst was happening..all the weather channel said was..it was churning in one spot..pounding the area..that's about it!!!

Now...i watch the news..and Miami got hit with a flood..well i'm sure it was from the depression Keith..but they didn't mention that..NOR did they mention anything in regards to the wrath of hurricane Keith. I was so angry. If it wasn't for the internet and posts from real people..I would have never known!! I have lost ALL respect for the media!!! ESPECIALLY CNN!!

If it's not in the states..they don't give a damn!! They don't care to get the FACTS and rather they scare pple..saying that there are mudslides...cayes underwater...etc!

After being excited, thanking them, and sending them the dropoff point and list of needs, nothing was on the late night news! I'm so disappointed.

... Looking through my old black book to see if I ever had a journalist boyfriend......

I forgot to tell all of you about the one REALLY stupid person I talked to at our local paper. I asked if anyone was covering what was going on with Ambergris Caye, Belize. She actually said "Is that here?"
I was dumbfounded. She then told me that the weather reporter might be doing something on it and she went to check. Came back and said never mind, it was a different weather story he was working on. GRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!

Today's Paul Harvey's lead-off topic was Hurricane Keith & Belize, and he mentioned Ambergris Caye by name! Too bad he doesn't check this message board because he said, " . . . the offshore island of Ambergris Caye was leveled."
Maybe that will help spur further efforts for disaster relief from the USA since he is so widely listened to!

I live in the NW of the Panhandle of Florida. Our paper has a circulation of probably 200,000. Not the NY Times but not The San Pedro Sun either if you know what I mean. They are just a bunch of ignoramuses. I wish I could cancel my subscription!! But then where would I get my comic relief from?
