Can one rent a car to go to Tikal from BZE? If not, what are cheaper options, since we are 4 adults and 1 infant. Please advise on how we can go about planning our trip.

If rental car is not an option, do hotels from San Ignacio provide a ride from International airport to the hotel or do we need to cab it?

And how do we get to tikal from the hotel and back.

pretty sure you can. we rented one (to go to cayo) in bz city. they will pick you up at the airport & take you to their office to fill out papers. it isnt cheap, nor is the gas, and it MUST be a 4x4.

we used lewis auto rental, i think they have a website. i found them thru barb's belize travel service.

oh, ps: some cayo resorts have r/t van transport avail from the airport, for a fee. know what the fee will be, as it is often per person. some also can arrange trans to tikal. i suggest you have it all figured out before you get there!
