If I am looking for a very relaxed low key stay at a place that has cabanas/casitas, a bar/restaurant, and a pool or pool access-- where would you suggest? I want to sit on the beach read, sip a drink, and snorkel. I do not need any night life, but would like to have a location where I can have a drink. Also, how difficult is is it to actiully get from the north into town and how expensive. It seems like places North are more low key, but I would like to be able to eat and visit other places. If I rent a golf cart I can't use it at night correct? Oh, so many questions.........sorry to be long winded. I am going June 10-14th and I can't wait! Just need to figure out where to stay.

Try Caribe Island, South of town by 3 miles. Offers everything you mentioned. You could never leave the grounds, or you could take the free shutle into town. What you said about North of the cut is true--the hand ferry shuts dowm in pm. Caribe also has a few resorts in walking distance, including The Victoria House. Caribe is not a lively hot spot like Ramones but it is not as sleepy/isolated as some others.

Do you want to be in an isolated place, or more in the village? Once you get over the cut, you are on your own after, I think, 8:00 p.m. re the carts. The boat ride is beautiful, and I highly recommend it, but can get expensive if you plan to make many trips into town. If you are near town, you can get everywhere on foot. But remember, most hotels can do what you need from them if you are just into beaching it. Have fun.
