Fundraising Drive for Ambulance
The good folks at Hideaway along with Rich and Cherri Frantz from Texas, U.S.A. held a fundraiser to benefit the Ambulance in San Pedro, Ambergris Caye this past Saturday, April 26, 2003.
The fundraising event at the hotel on Coconut Drive netted almost $5,000.00 Bze., to benefit the ambulance service in San Pedro.
"On behalf of Rich and Cherri Frantz and Hideaway, we would like to thank everyone who made the fundraiser a success," stated Joyce Harris of Hideaway. "This assistance will be put to good use to equip the ambulance."
Joyce also expressed special thanks to all the volunteers who donated their time in such short notice to assist with the fundraising event. Groovy music was provided by Dennis and Dennisito Wolfe and James Story, and a fabulous array of food entrees was prepared by Thitay and John Peters, who will soon be opening their new restaurant in town "Taste of Thailand". A handsomely hand-carved watermelon with lighted flowery adornments was one of the highlights of the food table prepared by the Peters.
The Colorado group "Hideaway North" also held an ambulance party in Colorado, U.S.A., which netted US$208.00 for the ambulance cause. "We express our sincere thanks to all the people who donated and to the support of the community of San Pedro during the event," concluded Joyce. Through this medium, the community of San Pedro would also like to express their thanks to Hideaway, Rich and Cherri Frantz, and all folks who participated and donated their time during the fundraiser this past Saturday.
