What do you think of The Palms? I saw you both mentioned it in "How Long Does it Take?"

The Palms is very nice and the people who work there are very helpful. I would stay there again. Right in town by the airport so you can walk every where. The garbage truck at 7 am and other street noise was irritating, but we were on the first floor. I am trying Bannana Beach this trip. Guess I got to try them all till I find my spot. Have fun.

Indygal, I'm confused. If you were on the first floor, wouldn't you have been in the front of the building? In other words, beachside and so separated from the road by the office, the pool and the casita?

Yes the pool and office were between our condo and the road. The bedroom was toward the road -your right - not directly on the road. It was the road noises that woke me each morning. Not horrible, as I said I would stay there again.

Hmm, that's still not too great, Indy. I can't imagine it would have been better if you were higher up. I would have thought it would be worse. You should have been a bit blanketed from the noise in your location. I never even considered for a second that the Palms would suffer from street noise.

This is interesting. I am a light sleeper and was hoping to catch up on my zzzzs this trip. I think it will be okay, I hope. The 5 year old will awake at some point anyway... That's what naps are for! Thanks for your input. We will be on the 3rd floor.

When do you leave Windsor? Be sure to come back and let us know how you find the noise factor, among other things.

Seashell, We leave June 20. We are taking this trip for our 10th anniversary! We travel a lot, and have always wanted to try Belize. I want you to know I always look forward to your words on the posts. You seem stable, honest and kind.

Gosh . . . that's ever so nice of you to say. Thanks so much for that, Windsor. I make every effort to be honest and I try to be kind (not always successfully). Still, there are many others that would question my stability.
