Just recently hired for a job in Belize. Will be going down next month to do a little sight seeing & getting a feel for the place. Any suggestions on where to go/ what to do? I'm 27 and single! Thanks for any and all suggestions.

Chasing Amy! I am jealous, I just returned from Belize and am going again June/July. What kind of job did you find there...
I am 24 and single, had a blast and sure you will too. I am happy to give you all my info an AC.

Hi ChasingAmy,
Are you who I think you are? Have you been on this board under another name? You know, we ALL want to know!!
What part of BZ are you going to be "checking out"? I'm assuming AC, since you are on this side of the board. When are you going to be there? I'm heading down a week from today and will be there all of June.
Cheerz,
Vicki

This is my first time on the board, so no, I'm not someone else! I'm doing some PR, and yes I'll be in the AC area. So is anyone gonna tell me what's going on down there, or will I be stuck wondering the place aimlessly?

Well of course fish and dive...other than that there has been 23 years of developemnt since my last trip and I think I'll be pretty shocked at the difference in the place. They even have lettuce now! hehehe

Ideas:

Strolling: Walk the beach between the river cut north of town to the "end" of the island south of town. Fun and you'll learn geography of that part of the island. This is also a nice beach jog if you are a runner, the sand gets soft in spots a couple of miles south of town.

Snorkeling: Alfonse Graniel, L'il Alfonse under "Goods & Services" menu above, phone: 614-5450; 226-3537; great guy & guide, wonderful with people & fish; ask him about other snorkeling sites after you visit Hol Chan & Shark Ray Alley.

Fishing: Ramon or Severo Guerrero, phone 226-2325, 226-2324; E-mail: [email protected]; great fishermen and fun to spend a day with; they cook a great beach picnic with your catch and will send fillets back with you for a restaurant to cook for future meals.

Catamaran Sailing: Geraldo Badillo, 226-2264, fun and serene.

Parasailing: Fido's Dock; great, high ride with spectacular views and Tony the boat skipper is a character.

Great local food: Los Cocos restaurant on north end of town, off middle street past Castillo's Hardware and Richie's Supermarket; wonderful whole fried snapper and fish fillets.

Sunday Beach Barbecue: at BC's bar just south of Sunbreeze Hotel at noon time.

Biking: Ride a bike north of town to the river cut, take the ferry across and bike/beach walk northward as far as you choose.

Around the island: Bacalar Chico tour with Excalibur Tours, 226-3235; takes you around the entire island with land and sea stops; great snorkeling at the north end of the island.

Have fun and enjoy your work there also.

I moved to Belize when I was 17 back in 88'. I'm now 31 and have lived all over Belize.

Belize City was fun, but AC is the best of Belize for me, being young and single.

We live life to the fullest here.

NIGHTLIFE SCHEDULE:

We all usually start off at Fido's as they have live music in the evenings and is a central meeting location.

Monday: Start at Fido's then Crazy Canuck's then night cap at Big Daddy's.

Tuesday: Start at Wet Willy's then Sushi at Blue Water Grill then Shark's Bar and finish off with Big Daddy's.

Wed: Start at Fido's then the best night of all - LADIE'S NIGHT at Wet Willy's - WILD ON BELIZE! Finish up at Big Daddy's.

Thur: Karaoke at Jaguar's then Big Daddy's.

Fri: Jaguar's and Big Daddy's

Sat: Fido's with live music and then Mr. C's VIP lounge then Big Daddy's.

Sun: REHAB day (sleep on the beach and get a tan). Big Daddy's for the hearty.

If your not working during the day, watersports are the best optoin:

Jet Skis, snorkeling, take up diving. Inland trips are cool - the zoo is a must. You'll learn all of this when you get here, it doesn't take long.

Look us up at Fido's if you need any assistance, tel#206-2072 Kim or cool Chris.
