We are heading to Ambergris Caye from July 26 through August 2nd. We are looking for good food, good drinks, and good watersports. Any suggestions? My sister, VB Coach, suggested to get on this board for some help. thanks!

Fun we've had: Snorkeling: Alfonse Graniel, L'il Alfonse under "Goods & Services" menu above, phone: 614-5450; 226-3537; great guy & guide, wonderful with people & fish; ask him about other snorkeling sites after you visit Hol Chan & Shark Ray Alley Fishing: Ramon or Severo Guerrero, phone 226-2325, 226-2324; E-mail: [email protected]; great fishermen and fun to spend a day with; they cook a great beach picnic with your catch and will send fillets back with you for a restaurant to cook for future meals. Catamaran Sailing: Geraldo Badillo, 226-2264, fun and serene; Geraldo and Justo also guide for fishing Parasailing: Fido's Dock Great local food: Los Cocos restaurant on north end of town, off middle street past Richie's Supermarket (Save-4-Less); wonderful whole fried snapper and fish fillets Great "pricier" food: Casa Picasso in San Pablo ("Cracked Coconut" dessert is excellent; Capricorn Resort, north of the river cut - fun, evening boat ride to and from restaurant, restaurant will handle your boat reservations (you pay for the ride) Happy trip...

A note on prices: I am VERY glad to be considered a nice place, and EXTREMELY honored to be in the company of all of the fantastic restaurants mentioned, but feel its important to point out that dinner at Casa Picasso doesn't have to be all that expensive. People come all the time for two huge bowls of pasta marinara (2x$16BZ) and a couple of beers (2x$3.50BZ)and are out for less than $50BZ bucks tip and tax included. I just had lunch for more than that. We have tried from the start to be a casual place people could come visit anytime, not just for a birthday or special occasion. Now, if it IS a special occasion, I have everything you'll need there too, either way, see ya soon. Chris/Beachy

I see nothing in the original post about prices anyway. I see good food and good drinks. So where did this expensive/inexpensive food, come from?

Hey Beachy, Didn't mean to offend.I should have said if you want to go all out and try many different things, which after looking at the menu you will, It could possibly get expensive. The original secret tourist LOL

One more thing that I want to toss in here ... Along with great food, great service is very important to an overall dining experience. Casa Picasso and Banana Beach excell in both areas! Chris - just to make you jealous, I have to tell you I am drinking a Shiner Bock this very minute

I endorse the recommendation of Picasso's wholeheartedly!! We went there last summer and really enjoyed the very mellow, yet stylish decor. And the food was great! WE have been in Belize for three out of the four last Junes, and we really miss it. Ah,,,that carefree life! That calm breeze. :p
