Our group will be in AC the first week of August for some R&R, and two of our group are interested in taking a day trip to the mainland to enjoy some horseback riding. Any recommendations on venue and tour operator?
I see where most operators have a package that combines a tour of Altun Ha in the morning with horseback riding at the spa in the afternoon. I would greatly appreciate comments from those who have done this combo.
The horsebasck riding I have done at Maruba ( part of the Altun Ha day trip) was less than exhilarating, to say the least. I've seen better horse rides (and horses) at the front of Wal-Mart for a quarter. Try Banana Bank - experts.

BB is an hours drive from Belize City and they a can provide a package with air, road transfers, riding and lunch. Lovely spot along the Belize River and you'll probably hear, ifnot see, howler monkeys in this area. Great riding here. bbl@btl.net
Banana Bank is definitely the place for horseback riding. We arrived late and they had our horses ready when we got there. We went for a 2 hour ride through the jungle and teak forest. The guides were excellent. We they run the horses, they RUN the horses. I was crying "uncle". We arrived back at the lodge after nightfall guided only by the million or so fireflys.
