Hey everyone!

Staci and I are planning a trip to AC for May of next year. We are going to bring a lot of family with us and I have one question that I can't find an answer to. My cousin has a felony conviction in Texas. Can he enter the country? If anyone has the answer and/or the place to look for the entry laws I would appreciate it.

Thanks,

Michael Lee

If he has a passport it should be bueno. No questions asked on entry if you have your passport

Michael,
I know that you asked this question in all seriousness, but I had to have a little chuckle... Here's why... I live in Oregon and for the last umpteen years there has been a local "rabalrouser" who was a big advocate for legalizing marijuana, and he had HUGE weekend gatherings, which included much "herbal enjoyment". He was very colorful, and a real thorn in the side of the sheriff department. He was so vocal that they couldn't ignore him, so they basically harrassed the heck out of him. They finally got him convicted of something or other, and his sentence was... (are you sitting down?)... five years in Belize. If he came back from Belize before five years, he would be thrown in jail. (He was married to a Belizean). When I read that story in the paper I nearly died laughing... here we were trying everything within our power to be able to spend lots of time in Belize, and he had the answer - get SENTENCED to go there!!!

Oh, if your friend has a passport (which everyone must have to go there), no one is going to ask if he has a record.

Kathy

The assumption here is that he is not on bail or awaiting sentencing. If he's done his time, should be no problem.

Thanks everyone for the replies...We are in the process of getting him a passport so we should be all set. Kathy...if only we could all be punished for our shortcomings in such a way......

See Y'all in May.
