My daughter is getting married at sunset on Ambergris Caye on Sept. 1st. There will only be 6 of us including the bride and groom for the wedding and we are looking for a place to go after the wedding for dinner and Champagne. Are there any places that might have live music on a Monday night or any other places you could recommend? I have really learned a lot about AC from this message board and appreciate any help you can give us. Kathy smile

Seems the only place we found w/ music on Monday night (this was in July) was at Mango's... Barefoot Skinny was doing joke night. It's just him & maybe 1 or 2 other guys playing w/ him, not the full CatX band. Some tunes, then audience participation joke telling, then more tunes. A very casual, small place... I like it laugh

re: dinner, if it were me, I'd follow others advice from this BB, take a water taxi up to one of the nice restaurants at the northern end of the island... Capricorn, Mambo's, etc. We did not do this ourselves, so I don't have a 1st hand report, but for a small wedding group I think it would be ideal... go north for dinner, then stop by Mangos later if you still want to hear music ...

How exciting for you and your family! I got married on AC on Sept. 2 two years ago. We'll be back celebrating our anniversary when your daughter is getting married. Send her love from one AC bride to another.

I would agree with the previous poster - take a boat to the north end and have a nice dinner at Capricorn and then come back to town to PAR-TAY and celebrate.

Another idea that just came to mind is to hire a tour company (Hustler I know does this) to charter a catamaran trip around the island. They can have dinner prepared for you to eat on the boat.

Best wishes!

Jennifer

Capricorn is a MUST! You must make reservations and they will arrange for a boat to pick you up and return you to your pier (at Your expence). Then, go PARTY in Town.

I had heard that Capricorn was pretty actively on the market and talked with one fellow who was thinking of buying it. Did they sell the entire place?

My information is that Capricorn will be closed for all of Sept and thru Oct 25th. I do not know if that will change if the sale goes through but that is the last word we had here.

BUMMER! We were going to go there for our anniversary dinner. I guess we'll have to go earlier.

They always close during that time frame. Don't know about any sale.
