Amazing how much better you can see under water, without glasses.

In England you had your eyes tested and then had lens put into your face mask just for you.

Yes, Blue Hole Dive Shop (in town) & Fanta Sea (at Victoria House) rent prescription masks. They don't cost much more than regular masks either! Makes a huge difference!!!

Do you also wear contacts? I snorkeled with mine and didn't have any trouble. I just had to be extra careful when pulling my mask off. Matter of fact, I had my son fitted for contacts for this very reason before we went on vacation. He had always worn glasses. Worked wonderfully for him as well.

here's a cheap and easy way to see while you snorkle if you are not going to buy a mask with a prescription lens; remove the stem pieces (i think that's what you call them)from an old pair of glasses and put the frames with the lenses inside of your mask. it works.

also, i can fix anything on the face of the earth with duct tape. i even taped a duct with it once. just ask me how!!!

I believe the prescription mask rental is only $5 (and a cc deposit so you return it.)

I ordered a prescription lense mask at our local dive shop before I went to AC last March for the first time. I have an astigmatism as well as being very nearsighted. From what I understand the rental prescription lenses don't correct for the astigmatism. It was well worth the expense. Have a wonderful trip. Marie

yes, they don't correct for astigmatism and they are not precise - more like small, med, large correction. But they work pretty well for the occasional snorkeling trip.
