First of all let me say what a wonderful resource this board has been for me during the planning stages of my wedding/honeymoon to AC in April 2004. Thanks so much for all of the information!

Now for my question...
I have been working with a wedding coordinator who lives in AC. Because of various email issues I am having trouble getting information about a minister to perform my wedding ceremony on April 2, 2004. Does anyone have any ideas? Originally I wanted to have an Episcopal Priest perform the ceremony but the wedding coordinator told me that it would be approximately $500.00 extra to have one come to AC. Is that right?? If so what are my other options? Although I am Catholic, my fiance has been divorced so I'm sure a Catholic Priest would refuse to marry us. I need to get some information so that my fiance and I can begin our pre-marital counseling here in the states. Thanks in advance for all of your help.

contact David Simpson at Banyan Bay -he is a non-denominational minister and marries more people than anyone else on the island-the catholic priest will not marry you and I am surprised that it is only 500bzd to bring a priest over from the mainland.

Thanks for the information Vicki. Unfortunately, the email address that you have provided for David did not work. Do you have an alternate address or an alternate method of contact?

Thanks so much,
Rebecca

David Simpson will do a good wedding for you. He is an entertaining and bright fellow who enjoys doing weddings. He will accomodate your wedding wishes. He was doing some work at Banyon Bay - you might contact them and ask if they could get David to email you.

The Catholic priest will not marry you if your husband was previously married in the Catholic church and did not receive an annullment of the Catholic marriage. If he was not married in the church, it should not be a problem, but you may have to prove that you had some sort of pre-nuptual classes if he is Catholic (attended a pre-cana conference), proof of conversion if it applies to him, and bring all your baptismal records etc...... I had to go through all this with my current husband. It was a nightmare. It may be easier to just get the guy that is recommended in the above posts. I'm sure he's reputable. But if it's important to you, be prepared.
