I could not get on the other board when you were talking about the Palms. Do you know if they will be up and running by this Saturday? We are supposed to stay there and my mom is going nuts not knowing. Can anyone get messages to the owners to contact prople with reservations? They can tell them, yes gooooo, or noooooo don't. Thanks, ~Anne
I don't think the Palms will be operational by this Saturday. Last I heard before we left was that they expect electricity back at town center by the end of this week and it could take up to a month to restore electricity to the outskirts. The Palms is not expecting electricity anytime soon. Without electricity there would be no running water as well. Most of the units at the Palms suffered extensive water damage and it may take a while to repair. My guess is probably 2-4 weeks depending on how soon they can get builidng supplies for repairs. If they get electricity back, they may have a couple of less damaged units available. The town of San Pedro was beaten pretty good by hurricane Keith.
Let me know if you want more info. Sorry I don't have better news.
We just got back from San Pedro and we stayed at the Palms. Everyone there is okay. Derric, Kelly & Jordan. Lena and her family is okay as well. The damage to the Palms is minimal considering the power of the Keith. The building is standing and no windows were broken. Only some damage to the roof in terms of missing tiles. There were some flooding several units. We were staying at the Casitas until the hurricane hit then we were moved to unit 21. For the most part, the palms is okay.
