If a few folks would hire my boat to as a supply lighter -- all
their problems would be history!

I would make two runs per week with from 2 to 3 tons of supplies --
including gasoline. But it is going to cost.

I need $1500 BZ per week to do that.

Another thing -- I can have my boat and six hard workers out there. We do
not need water, food or sleeping quarters. Can all live on the boat. Two
weeks at a time.

My Captain Rosa -- wants to go Conching in five days time. Figure I'll
send the boat out on that. First booking for me is Nov. 10th.

It is all fine and well for San Pedro to "beg" for "free" services -- but I
am feeding a lot of people here because there is no work for them.

Ray keeps saying they need help in Cay Caulker -- etc. But it sound like
they want volunteers. No such thing as a Belizean volunteer. Who
"volunteers" to feed their wife and children?

The hell with the free loading Islanders. We are going conching. Children
need food.

Anyway -- by the sounds of it -- they have everything under control now."

That was the first part of that message you posted -- ah -- but what the
hell --

Like you I'm dreaming of just getting out there and buming around with the
crew as they conch dive -- I fish shark -- clean chark -- store shark liver
-- clean cartilage -- etc.

Hey -- great work -- you got the customs thingy fixed.

I'm looking at buying another boat -- a very interesting one -- ask me
later about it.

honest truth marty -- went through a runaround with mitch last time. Can't
keep my men from work -- they have to survive as well.

If I had a house out there I certainly would get together with a few of my
neighbors and sign-up for a program like this for a few weeks. I hate
suffering for no good reason.

Using Email -- and simply transferring money into my bank account here --
they could live like kings supply wise.

further -- I could find as many other boats as needed for this same style
of service.

Each boat could easily service all the needs of four house holds. That is
for $187.50 per house per week. Two trips per week actually --

Hell - that is probably less than what it costs them per week for gasoline
to travel in and out to San Pedro in normal times to buy supplies!!

There is no reason for any one to be suffering from lack of supplies!!

I can even go to Chet and buy for them -- but they have to pay a small
extra expense for me to get there to buy the stuff for them. But we have
everything they need here in Corozal.

I can even tie in with Mennonites for deliveries of fresh meat and eggs!

I really wonder about those people out there -- sometimes I believe they
love to suffer and get pleasure from it.

Those skiffs from Corozal -- they carry less than 1000 lbs of provisions
and use 40 to fifty gallons of gasoline per trip!!

figure $250 BZ per trip for 1000 pounds.

and this is the "donated" deal!!

Hell -- if I got paid $250 per 1000 lbs -- that would be 6*$250 = $1500 per
trip!!

They pay for my service -- not donated -- and it costs them half the price!!

Plus -- the stuff gets there "dry"!!

And those skiffs only go to the back lagoon!! If they went to the front --
add another $100 of gasoline!!

Yes I can deliver to Journey's end and beyond for 1/2 the price.

But I can't call it a donation!! And they'll pay double the costs for a
"donation".

I really wonder about these "smart" people in San Pedro Marty!!

As we say here in Belize -- they are "To Smart"

Peter
