My wife and I were there 11/8 - 11/15 last year. Weather wasn't too bad. It rained every night (sometimes POURED during the night), and rain showers blew through everyday. Daytime showers lasted 5-15 minutes, you'll see them coming, so you have plenty of time to find a place indoors and drink a Belikin.

Activity wise we fished & snorkled - no problem with either. If the rain was coming the boat moved around it with no problems.

Crowd wise, there were not a lot of tourist. No problems getting into restaurants, etc.

In a nutshell, we wouldn't hesitate to go back that time of year again. Plus it's lobster and shrimp season (perhaps conch too - but you'd need to check on that).

Seven Seas is a great place to stay. We have been staying there for the last 10 years. It is a little farther from town but a nice walk along the beach will get you there in about 15 mins. It sits about 25 ft from the water and has a fantastic veiw from the porch. They even added an ironing board and hair dryer in every room. It is older then a lot of the places but it has it's own charm. So it depends on what you are looking for(new place or older)

magoo, would you agree that people booking into Seven Seas, would want to make sure that they had a suite in Block A or B and not in the newer units in the back around the pool?

I would also agree with Magoo except the part about it being "a little farther from town" it's actually on the north edge of town. (also a 15 minute walk will basically get you across town and back).

I will add to Mountain Larry's comments regarding location. I really like where Seven Seas is located. Nice walk to "town". I've often stayed in the Boca del Rio area and walked most everywhere from there, back and forth all the day and night.

Seven Seas is close enough to town to be no effort, it's around the corner from one of my favorite local restaurants and it almost has a secluded ambiance, that some search for by going north of the cut.

seashell, yes I agree. One of the front units for sure. I don't know if you all are saying 15 minutes is to long or to short. I guess it depends on how much of the beautiful scenery you want to take in on your walk. We like to take it slow.

My friends & I stayed there last year and really enjoyed the location. You definitely want to eat at Papi's a wonderful Mom & Pop restaurant which is on the block directly behind the Seven Seas. Also, a wonderful bakery with fresh pastries in the morning is nearby as well. Walking to town is very pleasant and only takes a few minutes.

The resort is very quiet with a nice private pool and the staff is very helpful. It is not high end or fancy but basic in its furnishings and each unit does have a full kitchen. We mostly used the full frig to store our Beliken's.

Enjoy!
