a) when does lobster season start?
b) last year I came the 2nd week of June and the weather was great----if I come toward the end of June should I be concerned that it may be rainy?

I was there for a week last July for my honeymoon and it was lobster season. My husband made a point to eat lobster at least twice a day..lobster tacos, lobster nachos, lobster cerviche..etc. As far as the weather went we only had one rainy day. And it cleared up by noon. The rest of the time was blue skys.

well, a closed season means that...closed. Severe penalties for those caught harvesting/selling. It cannot be sold in closed season. That said, there was, a year or so ago, a limited amount of "pre-bought" lobster available from a few select retaurants througout the country. Not sure if that is still in effect. Bywarren? Pedro1? Jesse? If it is, you may have limited luck, if not, sigh.

The Belize Hotel Association offers a "lobster program" to its members. Only a few actually participate. The lobster is caught and frozen during the season, and then bought for a higher cost as needed.
I think that Victoria House does participate... not sure about anyone else.
