Lacy Burnette called from the island a few minutes ago. She said they
are
fine. They had no flooding whatsoever in Iguana Gardens! Their apt. is
completely dry with everything intact. Barefott Iguana is also perfectly
fine. Tim's (Barefoot Skinny) house is flooded with mud in Boca del Rio
and
Elisabeth doesn't want to go back there so they are renting the apt
above
Dave I guess until they build the new house. Dave got there just in time
to
take care of Lacy who got sick with montezuma's revenge but she is fine
now
and was able to stand in line for the phone today to call out. She wanted
me
to contact you all and was relieved to hear that I already had. She said
she
was more worried about all of us worrying about her! Fido's will reopen
Saturday night for a big hurricane survivors party and Elisabeth's shop
Amabar is ok there too. They have power on front street and the clubs
and
tourist business will soon put Tim and Elisabeth back to work.
The US corp of engineers arrives today, the British soldiers and the
Canadian corp are already there, so she said power would be back on within
a
week. She had no plans to come back but said Dave's arm was hurting and
he
might have to return next week to get it looked at and to work a little
and
bring back more supplies. I encouraged her to come with him and take a
little vacation! When Dave is here he stays at Jerry's in Grapevine at
[email protected] so if you want to get money to him you can contact
him
there at Jerry's probably next week.
Lacy said that Eric was a real trooper and never complained or was
afraid.
His job was to watch the kids and make sure they were safe when they let
them outside. Chris went down with Dave to run damage control but will
probably return here in a few weeks.
I didn't have a chance to ask her about the boats, Dave's almost
certainly
sank with no bilge pump but I don't know if Tim's had a pump or not.
Evidently Daniel's survived fine.
She said she'd call again in a couple of days.
Love,
Sheri
