I'm a single guy, traveling to AC alone. I'm basically "planning" to wander aimlessly, snorkel, meet a few people, eat good food, and hoist many Belikens (sp)? I don't have much travel experience, and have never been out of the U.S. I'll be staying at BB. Any advice or suggestions?

Sounds like you'll fit right in! Have fun! Check out Hammock House, Fido's, Mata Rocks happy hour (right next door), Big Daddys, Jaguars, Barefoot Iguana. It all falls into place.

I did the same thing, spent new years of 2000 on AC with a marine bio group studying the marine habitat there, the seashore plants along with the mangrove swamps. Ever since I have traveled back to beautiful Belize and AC 3 other times, spending months at a time. Can tell you finding Belize is a source and it will change your life, trully the greatest thing Ive ever done. Make sure you snorkel, the fact is there are more living creatures in the waters of Belize per square foot, than anywhere else in the world. You have any specific questions, feel free to ask.

I have been there alone twice, single female. I am going again in May. How old are you? It's a wonderful place and you will appreciate going alone!

I've gone there alone twice now, the last time I stayed at Banana Beach. I've found that AC is a good place to go for single travelers. You can go on the snorkeling and mainland tours and not feel out of place.

Don't sweat it! I have several solo travels under my belt and will be in AC solo second week of April. If you haven't done it before, you'll quickly find that it's easier to meet all sorts of people since you tend to be more outgoing than you usually are. I've never had a bad experience. Hey, if you're around at that time, the wonderful people at BB will have a case of cold ones in my frige when I arrive. If you happen to hear Jimmy B strumming his strings at BB and see a guy on the balcony with cold one and a fine cigar hiding under a Panama hat, come on in and grab a cold one. Oh heck, that goes for anyone that's going to be around when I'm there. laugh
