Greetings-

I would love to find a drift (Current) dive somewhere near Placencia or Caye Caulker. Anyone ever heard or experienced this type of dive? The kind where you are dropped off and picked up at different locations?

Gracias amigos.

Just returned from a windy trip to AC. All the local dives we did were drift dives. If the group is big they may moor the boat long enough to get divers in water then follow the bubbles. Pick you up when you get low on air. Just like the COZ.

We do lots of dives where you get off an (unmoored) boat and are picked up somewhere else, but I wouldn't call most of these "drift dives" because there isn't much current and you have to swim. The only real drift dive I've had in Belize so far was one day at the Aquarium (Lighthouse Reef), where I reckon the current was around 2mph. Not like drift dives I've done in some other places where you tuck your arms and legs in and watch the world rush by.

My question I know sounded horribly "lazy" but hey! I will be on vacation and I like the sound of "sitting back and watching the under water world go by". Thanks for the info!

You can always create your own current by using a DPV (underwater scooter).
