We are arriving at portofino in ess than 2 weeks. When are you going?

We will also be at Portofino 4/3-10 and like JohnB, I can't find any reports by anyone who has stayed there recently either. Would love to hear from any of you if you're out there.

Have concerns about the water taxi to and fro sp. Also read about negative feelings about the resort in general. why?????

We can't change our plans now but would like to hear specific pros and cons.

Hey Coconuts, would you mind finding out about the pier dining for me. One of the boarders said they made reservations during their visit however, when they arrived at Portofino they were taken inside to the regular restaurant. Can you see what the deal is for me? We are thinking about celebrating our friends 20th wedding anniversary there. Have a fabulous trip. I understand Portofino is really beautiful. mobunny

All outside dining is entirely dependent on the weather, especially winds. Anyone who has been there before will know why this holds true. It can get very windy at times. No amount of reservation or advance notice can change this, unfortunately.

Having been to SP twice I thought maybe it was because of the weather (wind) too. However, the boarders said there was no wind that night. So just was wondering what's up because it sounds like a wonderful idea. mobunny
