Hello (sorry for the terrible pun),

I am headed to Belize soon, and I have a few questions:

1) If any of you have taken the ferryboat from Belize Airport to San Pedro, tell me what it was like.

2) I will be staying on the southern end of the island, south of San Pedro. if any of you have stayed in this ocation, what was it like? Are there places like grocery stores close by?

Even for a small island, "south of San pedro" covers a lot of ground. Could you be more specific?

Personally, I prefer the air transfers... they only take 20 minutes as opposed to over an hour on the water in a less that steady ride.

However, many people prefer the boat to the air. Just up to you.

We took the boat over and it was an interesting trip. The taxi ride from the airport to the boat terminal was a trip in itself. I had to use duck tape on my wife to keep her quite. Passing on the right, the left, around curves. Wow! Whee! The boat ride was o.k. about 1 and half hour. Windy ride because of the speed of the boat but interesting people as well as the goods they were taking. We stoped at caye caulker on the way to drop off people and stuff. We kinda liked it. When we left we took the plane. We enjoyed that also. Didn't need the duck tape. I was co-pilot. Good fun. Enjoy and live the dream.
