A pareo or flat sarong, works great for a beach towel, drys fast and packs sooooo flat.

Excellent tip Chloe. The only time I have worried about having a towel was the first year I had my apartment there. I bought a beauty at a little pots, pans and matts shop on middle street, across from the casino. (hadn't realized before that you could even find a towel of that quality in SP). It was such a nice towel that I brought it home with me instead of leaving it behind. Whereever I travel, I always have a minimum of two sarongs with me and usually more. I do this even on cooler destination trips, makes for a good wrap while in the room.

Dob I have a Beliken beach towel with the map of San Pedro town, since 1993, but never take it back to Belize, for fear of losing it. The kids on springbreak took Beliken towel to SPI beach, and Gramma got on their butts.......lol

Dark blue Moon Goddess is a must, encrust it too if you have time Just stay wet, ya won't need a towel. Take a hand towel, sarong and big books. Don't let the books snorkel, I think there is a law against that OH OH OH, a hair tie or hat. It's windy often. Unpack......to repack

Have been reading all I can about the laws of Belize and for the life of me can't find the one referring to books not be allowed to snorkel. Might just need to test that one out ... hmmm .... wonder where I can get life vests for the lil dears? (I just knew that we'd get back to snorkeling, but thought that it would be on the other board!)

Hints, schmints.... I've now made at least 20 trips to BZ, and EVERY time, I take 2 suitcases, 69.9 lbs each, plus the deeogee, plus my backpack carry-on. I have clothes hanging in my closet down there already..... it's just a thing..... (I use the excuse that my weight is fluctuating, and that I have to be prepared for any size......) (But I always take more zip-locs too!)

ibanole, just curious, how long have you owned the resort & how much time do you spend on AC each year? Do you run another business in the states?
goody, you win the woman of the year award if you can get your stuff & two teenage daughters stuff in only 2 bags. Or were they two steamer trunks!!

J&R, We bought Caribe Island Management a little over 2 years ago. My husband lives there all year, and I go back and forth, usually a month in the US, a month in BZ. I won't lie to you, I hated Belize at first, and the thought of being there for more than a week at the time made me ill. (I was much more a Florida/Key West/Cancun kind of girl. But, it has grown on me. I have spent up to 6 weeks there, but I sure do love coming home to Dairy Queen, Wal-Mart and yes, Neiman Marcus!! I did have a business in the US, but sold out some time back. I don't know if you know my history, but I owned a wonderful Cheerleading Company for years. When my son died 3 years ago, my life changed totally. My husband and I discovered Belize, and I wanted nothing more to do with cheering. But honestly, while doing business in the US is a pain (you all know about Cheerleading Moms!!), doing business in Belize is a REAL challenge. My family and friends tell me that I don't have to watch "Days of our Lives" or "Survivor"..... I live it!! Cheerz! Vicki

Vicki, thanks for the info and I can't imagine what it must be like to have a loss like the one your fanily went through.I have two sons and I guess we all take things for granted sometimes. My wife Rose and I have always made it a point to tell our sons we love them when they go out the door because life can be cruel and you never know when the curve ball comes. The best part is they return the "I love you to". Our prayers to you and your family.
I see you live in the real deep south of Georgia. My brother in-law lives in Cumming, north of Atlanta.
I live in a small town north of Boston called Swampscott & just last week the Cheerleading squad went to Florida and blew everybody away with runner-up showing.Isn,t it usually those southern gals who place that high!!!!
Best regards,Jack
