Lan and Barbara K. Thank you very much! Sure does make me feel better. That's what I was hoping to hear. Can't wait to get on that reef!

Helo Laurie, We will be arriving on the 21st and staying until the 29th, so yes, we will overlap. Congrats on the wedding! What day will that be? Susan has been great with all our questions, also. Very responsive and a pleasure to deal with.

Hi all!
Hey just wanted to mention that Belize is considered "Malarial" by the Red Cross. So if you visit, you will need to wait 12 months from your departure date before you can donate blood again.
No big deal really, just adding in what I found out last week. So check it out if you are a giver.
BTW: For instance, if you visit Cancun proper, only, you are fine. If however you visit a ruin, Tulum, Chitzen Itza, etc., you may not give for 12 months. I would think this should include the ruin in Cancun itself "Del Ray". It's a tiny ruin south of town, but loaded with critters at it's North end.
I know I've diverged, but they don't call me "Master of all things arcane" for nothing.
LOL

Thanks KCJD, good and interesting informatiom. I am a giver and never thought of that. Sure won't keep me from going though. I guess the needy will have to do without next year :-)

Larry, The wedding will be 6/14. All the family is in town from 6/11 to about 6/18 or so - the rest of the time is for me and the soon-to-be hubby to relax. Laurie

Just to add to kcjd's post... yes, AC is considered malarial and does prohibit you from donating whole blood, but it does not stop you from donating plasma or platelets (which you can do more often anyway). This is the info I have from the local organization I use (Bloodsource), and since I travel to various spots, I've been deferred from donating whole blood... this way I can still donate. For example, I went to Panama and was on a ship the entire time, but because we went to the San Blas Islands and got off the boat, I couldn't give whole blood, but plasma was fine. Donations are down, so if you can, consider donating. You won't miss what you give up...and you could be saving a life!

Hello Ed! Small world, huh? The low country has certainly been wet this weekend.
This will be our first trip to AC. We've been to most of the Bahamas, Virgins, Antigua and Jamaica and we were looking for something different this year. I hope we made a good choice, sounds like it from what I've read here, anyway. Thanks!

Hello Laurie, you'll already be married when we get there, and your family gone......yall will be ready for some partying by then:-)
Maybe we can get together and split the cost of a snorkeling or fishing trip or something?

Larry and Laurie, Hello! We will be at the Xanadu from June 17 through the 25 with our family, my husband and I, our 2 college sons and my Dad and stepmom. It is freezing cold here in Michigan today and I am so looking forward to the warmth of AC. This is our first time to Belize and this board is sure a great resource. I've answered almost all my questions by using the search feature. Joy

Hello Joy. Cold down here in Savannah this morning, too. 40 degrees, real cold for May! Glad to hear some others are staying at the Xanadu. Sounds like you are bringing a crowd! We are celebrating our 30th anniversary and leaving our teenager home this time. Much to his dismay!
How did we ever do anything before Al Gore invented the Internet?

Larry, I sure am glad Al Gore was so inventive! Sure makes travel planning more fun. We will be celebrating our 25th anniversary in May. Congrats on your 30th. Too bad you are not bringing your teenager, he could hang out with our sons, 17 and 21. Joy
