I know this should be common knowledge but once again it bears mentioning: TO ALL FUTURE VISITORS TO BELIZE: If you call a U.S. 1-800 number from Belize IT IS NOT A FREE CALL. The only free 800-style phone calls from Belize are for local (Belizean) 800-style numbers.

When you are charged for a 1-800 call to the USA IT IS NOT A RIP-OFF. In Belize (and every other country south of the USA) we get billed the same to call a USA 1-800 number as we do to call a regular USA number.

P.S. Delta Airlines won't change your ticket using your frequent flyer miles...you have to pay extra and it makes your mood shitty on a Sunday morining and you take it out on us poor Internet bar owners when you spend 17 minutes on the phone trying to negotiate with a 300lb Delta employee who really doesn't give a shit about your vacation plans.

Thanks for your support, Jeff. Now, I want my free bar priviledges re-instated on my cruise. Otherwise I'm gonna sulk on our fishing trip on the 4th!

Yeh, had the same two problems in business. Would have been great if I just could have figured out how to get rid of them - Customers and Employees. :p

Actually I have gotten rid of them, along with the business. smile

It probably all depends on how the customer treated Delta - if I;m reading Chris right, the perp was a little less than a sweet gentle soul. I've chgd FF tix on several airlines mid-travel and never paid a nickel (once in BZ, called CO from out in the jungle, pushed out return dates and was told of the $75 chg fee. Didn't make any waves. Just went to Goldson on day of dept, smiled, chatted amiably, asked how full the flight was, mentioned how sad it was to be leaving again and guess what - no change fee AND a 1st class upgrade through to BOS) - kindness & compliments go a long way.
