I've been reading this board for 4 years and this is my first post, please help! Last year while walking in shallow water shelling on the back side of Ambergris Caye we were attacked by these small, clear, "tick-like" creatures that stung and climbed rapidly up our legs. We had to pick them off. What were they? The guide said pica pica but not so.

They were sea lice.

We ran into these creatures while shelling and bird watching in the bay area between the mainland and Ambergris caye.We were walking in clear water (but still) about waist deep. They were like fast moving ticks. Their bites or stings left no marks and once removed all was fine,just creepy.
