Met the lady at dinner last night who was bitten by a shark on Sunday. Her hand looked real good, no stitches. It was inflamed and "seeping". They were very impressed with the medical assistance they received. Can you believe she is from Oklahoma, too.
The bloom is diminished on paradise this morning. Went out to get our snorkling gear off the veranda and the masks and my hubands bathing suit are gone. They left the rented fins and my suit. Our fault we know.

Okie, just curious, what difference does it make her being from Oklahoma? Don't let this one incidence put a dark cloud over Paradise. One can get bit by a dog walking down the street anywhere in US. We all know the risks when intruding in another species home turf!!!!
This is what happens when humans feed animals to attract them. I for one, do not agree with this practice. Ok I said my 2 cents......
Don't let this keep you out of the water. Sorry to hear about your gear, as we have all said before, keep your belongings inside.

Oh please newyorkers, where on this earth can you leave unattended goods, and not expect them to be still there. LIke I tell my kids, if you don't think that much of them to put it away, don't expect it to be there later...

If you are from "the city" you of all people should know that..

All those who are in fear of animal attacks and "stuff being stolen" please do us all a favor and take a cruise and stay on the boat.
Stop bashing our Paradise.

Scooter, wow forgot your meds this morning!!! I was just making a statement and asking questions as well. I have been all over the world and have never had anything stolen. Our practice is to usually leave our wet items outside to dry and we never had a problem before that's all!

About the turtle/shark attacks, I was just curious! I have the greatest respect for nature and try my hardest just to observe when I am in the water.

I guess just like anywhere in the world there are people like you have little to no tolerance for people asking questions or making statements. Sorry if I offended you!!! I will make sure I do not ask or make any more statements in this forum.

Well said, Scooter.

With those nurse sharks, I'm really surprised more people don't get bit.

newyorkers, don't stop asking questions or wondering how you will enjoy Ambergris Caye.

It's how we all learn, your welcome here laugh

Not all of us live in "the city"... wink

This is one of the first times I have heard of all the 'bites' as well and I have been here for several years, reading and posting. Hang in here smile

Thanks NYgal! I was just a little taken back from Mr. Scooter's comments. I did not know he was Mayor of San Pedro. He really should take his meds as the doctors prescribed, he may end up hurting himself or others.
