Several years ago I took my elderly father who had Parkinsons on a trip that went like this ....... rented a car - drove to Zoo - flat ground, not huge, fascinating. Then to Belmopan, drove past seat of Government. Then to Chaa Creek, where we stayed. We walked the Panti Medicine trail (easy walk) which is next door to Chaa Creek.
Then drove to Mountain Pine Ridge - stopped in at the Garcia Sisters (Dad was an avid carver, so he adored their stories), 1,000 foot falls, Blancaneaux Lodge for a very elegant lunch, also went to Rio Frio Cave (trail to the cave is easy, and you can see it without really going into it. The location is lovely - a true rainforest environment. It was a wonderful trip. Go for it.
