if you need to find out about someone in Caye Caulker, email me at [email protected] adn i'll have Carmsn chase them down.

Here is her latest information:

I am glad if I can be of any help.. Let me know if there are
specific people you want me to check out for you.. will do..
there was a barge there when I got in yesterday but it was the Brits with
their vehicles. Today the Brits left.. my sister said they have been out
there since Tuesday. the BDF went out today..

when you are approaching the island you can look up and count the coconut
trees that are standing up and the pine trees.. you can couont the limbs
that are still on them..
The water is murky and the beautiful beach that they had been working on is
all broken up.. You know if that hurricane had come from the east and hit
the front of the island it would have been adios to everyone and all.

Looking around I can say that it will be a while for people to get back on
their feet and people need help.. more than 50% of the islanders that are
homeless either have very little or no$$$.. the lobster season is very bad
and now with this we can forget tourism for a while as hotels and
restaurants will be closed down..
The NOvelos are my in-laws and an estimate of their loss is about
$50,000.00. The hotel everything is ruined.. mattresses, fans etc. they
lost 2 of their tourists boats and 2 engines. nothing is insured.. and
their are many more people in this same boat..

I have just had a chance to go down the front street.f. will go visit the
split and the back street and take pics tomorrow.. but keep in touch before
I leave in the morning .. like I said let me know of names of people to get
info for you...
night Carms

This is wonderful news. Oh, not about the conditions. That is awful,to say the least, but very wonderful that what you do will perhaps put loved ones together or ease some minds. I hope everyone is able to get assistance and back on their feet quickly. Peace and God bless. June

Hi. Does anyone know how Cindy and Carlos and Zulema Ayala are doing?

We all got together here in Comox BC for Thanksgiving supper and are thinking about our dear family members in Caye Caulker.

We know they are ok but lost all of their possessions, still if anyone knows the latest on how they are doing please let us know.

Thanks

My heart goes out to the people on cayecaulker and san pedro, and any other people thet might have suffered any losses during the hurricane. our prayers are with you and hope that relief will come soon.

but, my only purpose for the reply on this message board is as a warning to all you kind hearted and generous people out there, who are about to do anything you can to help these people. please don,t take what i'm about to say as a discouragement but just that if you are planning to give anything especially money, that you not give it to just anyone on this mess. board claiming to be advocate to the people on the island, but that you give your donations to organizations such as red cross or village councils and the such or the very deserving people will never see the help. only these people posing like helpers will be helping themselves. again, people do need the help, but make sure you know really well the people or organizations you are sending you donations to especially credit card nos. and cash.

peace

I'm looking for a young boy named Hilber Verde (or known by Lopez to some; it's confusing). He's 12 years old and lives in the back, west of Elena August's store. He has several brothers and sisters, all younger. Elena knows him, and may know his whereabouts. If you see him, please tell him Fran says she's thinking about him and that Greg (Amy's husband) is bringing an envelope down for him on Thursday.
