I stayed there back in October. The location is very convient to everything. The rooms are large and have a great view. If you are looking for a quite beach, this is not the place. Many of the locals use the pier infront of the hotel on the weekends. For a downtown hotel, the Mayan Princess is a great option.

Stayed there many times, lots of space,Tv&phone,as everyone said great location center of town, what I liked the best was the huge balconies on upper floors, agree with Capt.Jeff on the layout, rooms are long and narrow.Great value for what you get.
Always stayed there with dive groups I brought down & every one liked it. Just don't get a room on the end next to Fidos, they play loud music real late.

There's lots of posts about the Mayan Princess over the past few years. Go to the search feature above right, plug in Mayan Princess and watch the screen light up with hits.

Wheeler,

My husband, child and I have have stayed at the Mayan princess our last three trips. I second most of what everyone says. I have to say this though try and get the second or third floor if you can. We have stayed on all the floors and the higher up the better privacy wise. Rusty and Sheila the managers are great! Have fun!

Just got back today from staying at the Mayan Princess. We had a third floor room and it was great. Rooms were nice and big and comfortable and staff was friendly. They will also come and pick you up at the air strip and take you back which is nice. Also, they were willing to talk about the price for the night. They gave us a great deal but they were not full and we were walk ins. But, it doesn't hurt to ask.

Thank you for all of the tips. We stayed there for 4 nights and could not get two rooms on the second or third floor for that whole time so we took #5 and #6. We loved the first floor and would do that again. The rooms were great. The people working there were wonderful. Thanks for the tip about being next to Fido's.
