As a first-timer coming to San Pedro, I have been following this board regularly, and am reading "A Salty Piece of Land", (recommended reading from an earlier post), and am hoping San Pedro isn't a big spring break place, as mentioned in the book. Please tell me its not! I will be staying up north by the cut, and looking for some peace, quiet and harmony. I made a BIG mistake a couple of years ago, and landed smack dab in the middle of spring break, in Cancun, at the resort where MTV was broadcasting from, and I have seen enough of sights, to last me a lifetime. Thank you everyone for all your advice, and insight.

The spring break scene in the book is pure fiction.

Totally agree. You won't find the kind of craziness in San Pedro as you will in Cancun. Staying north of the cut as well puts you away from some of the crowds and traffic too.
