Hi Cinca, I have called the local Red Cross office here in Ottawa. Sounds like they did not even know there had been a hurricane. I am waiting for them to call me back... Will keep you posted..

I called the Canadian Red cross on October 4. They have to wait until they get the OK before they can do their thing. The Belize Red Cross..then the American..then us. Therefore..what I had to do was give them my name and the name of the pple I was looking for. If they got an "ok"..then they would do something.

Finally got the confirmation that Red Cross has issued a "emergency appeal" for Belize... Look at web http://www.IFRC.ORG/cgi/pdf_appeals.pl?00/2900.pdf and perhaps e-mail that page to TV/radios stations...

Thanks karin!

RE: emailing a PDF file to a TV/Radio station though, many won't accept attachments of any kind, including hyperlinks, for security reasons.

For any one who doesn't know about it, here is a link to the "International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies" news report page regarding Belize, that you may want to browse occasionally and see if there are any updates:
