Looking to hire a few fly fishing guides Feb. 14-20. Can anybody recommend a few names besides Capt. Bicho and son. I am looking to do mostly flats fishing for Bonefish, Permit , and Tarpon.

Does anybody know how stocked the El Pescador fly shop is for flies and leaders?

I am probably an intermediate fly fisherman so would be looking for a little guidance from a guide.

Try Wilbur Marin 226-2227 or 600-5029, he was one of the original guides at El Pescador and now does freelance.

I can personally recommend Vincent Dawson(book through Ruby's) and Manuel Azueto(book through Tradewinds). I've heard some positive comments about Severo Guerrero on this board and on ffboards-check past board posts. Pescador has alot, but I'd suggest to stock-up at home. Even if you have more than you need, you'll have saved $

I agree with Magnum Belize. I went out with Abby Marin and had a super time flats fishing. We caught bonefish, black snapper, red snapper, snook and even a barracuda. He'll fillet them as well.

Cottage: just a note. Don't be put off by comments about guides that have got folks into snappers, jacks, cudas etc. Very few guides came to the job w/ff experience. Many migrated from commercial fishing and most would starve w/o alot of reef/channel spinfishing clients. The trick is to find a guy who understands the unique boat-handling needs of flyguys.

Thanks Krehfish ! How did you do when you went with these guys? Do they bring any equipment with them or just the boat and a net? Any idea on what they charge? Is the best way to reach them through the hotel?

Thanks for the input!

I have said on this board before that my husband and I fly fished with Severo Guerrero. He was excellent and really knew how to put us on the bonefish. He poles the boat standing on a little stool. He ties his own flies and had a good supply of them. We will definitely book with him again. You can contact him directly at 226 - 2324

flyfishin,

Don't go telling everyone about Severo, it's already hard enough to book him smile

I'll be on AC by this time tomorrow and I'm fishing with Severo for 2 days.
