Hopefully, there will be more communications with Caye Caulker now. A friend called me from the local BTL office this morning. There are two lines phones for prepaid calls..i.e. phone cards and another to start today from which people can place collect calls.
She said that the rain continues to fall and the Caye is a muddy mess. When it is not raining the bugs are worse than anyone can imagine. The people need footwear, antibiotics, and places to live. There is a skin condition(rash/hives mix) going around, as well as a bronchial infection. No definite word on when electric will be retored. There are still family's living
in the school and they are trying to construct a barracks type building for
the homeless. She estimates 30 family's. The conversation was short as her calling card was running out.
