Hi! I'm new to this board and have a question. My husband and I are planning a trip to Ambergris Cays at the end of April. We are both divers and would like to find a place to stay. I would like some beach front, as well as a place that caters to divers. Any suggestions? We will be staying a week. Thank you!

I would like it very clean, with a pretty view of the ocean. Would like to keep it under $100 a night, if possible.

Oh, I forgot to ask, are the mosquitos or no-see-ums a problem?

hi, no, of the five times I have been there, no mosquitos. how far from town do you want to be close or secluded? if you want to be close to town, or in town, go to spindrifts if you have to stay under $100 an on the beach.... but this is hard during peak season to stay in this price range, do you have to have an ocean view or can the hotel just be on the beach? banana beach is just under $100 for a room without a beach view... or try Holiday...

Give or take a couple of dollars, if you guys really are divers . . . and just want a view of the ocean and also want to be close to your op. Chose Amigos del Mar and stay here . .

You'll never regret either choice.

Depending on season (which changes prices) also try Belize Yacht Club (popular with serious divers), Exotic Caye, Corona del Mar, Banana Beach. All have nice ocean-front rooms, though you generally pay quite a lot more for the privilege. Sunbreeze is also very popular with divers, though I don't think they have ocean-view rooms. Don't worry about being near your dive center, as they will all pick you up if you wish. Though some of these are right next to dive centers.

I AGREE! WHEREVER YOU DECIDE TO STAY-DIVE WITH AMIGOS DEL MAR: AMIGOSDIVE.COM YOU DO NOT NEED TO STAY SOMEWHERE WHO CATERS TO YOUR DIVING, AS THEY PICK YOU UP AT YOUR PIER AND TAKE EXCELLENT CARE OF YOU-AMIGOS DEL MAR, SEASHELL YOU'RE RIGHT!

You can get good package deals through Hustler Eco Tours to stay at Paradise Villas or the Blue Tang Inn. These places are both only a 5 minute walk down the beach to the middle of town yet away from the dust and noise. Both have pools, although the Blue Tangs is small, kitchens, etc.
