Any ideas on what is room availability on AC going to be like next week? My roommate and I arrive on Monday and are winging it. We are college students and are looking for a cheap but clean and safe place to stay. We thought about Ruby's, but have seen a couple of posts about it not being the safest place. We are starting to get a little nervous....HELP

Not safe? I have not heard that.
It is clean and basic. A good base for activities and you are likely to meet others doing the same thing as you!
Security at night, safe in the office.
Enjoy your trip cool

You shouldn't have to worry like that Heidi. Just be careful like you would be at home. Don't be foolish with your stuff, don't leave your door unlocked, don't let strangers into your room . . .have a wonderful time. You'll probably just love Ruby's and be back to SP as soon as you can manage it.

Don't sweat it. Ruby's is a great place. Like most other places in town it does have a few goofballs walking the beach very late at night/early morning. Use some common sense. Ruby's did partially enclose their deck and added a gate, which was a nice addition.

There are TWO Rubies - one at the beach and one on the lagoon.

nowhere can be guaranteed as safe, but we have had lots of guests staying at both of the Ruby's and at many other places in town - quite often single girls - and have never heard any of them say they didn't feel safe. San Pedro is as safe as it gets.
