Yesterday I was reading an article on Caye Caulker, and it sparked my attention, because it sounds like just the place for me, I have since yesterday been researching CC, but I still have a few questions.
Are there any places to stay that do have pools? Since all I have been reading is there are no beaches, on the island.( could someone explain what the shores are like if there is no sandy beaches) I am not looking for action or lots of people at all, but I may want to swim on occasion. Also are there snakes on the island? How about bugs?? I mean in the hotels etc? Also I've seen reference to mosquito nets?
What is the best time to vacation there? I am from the northeast USA, so Jan/Feb/March is the time I want to go where it is warm, are these good months? Is it true there is no lobster during those months? Thanks for any and all info. I hope to visit early next year.

Lobster Season ends on Feb 14 and opens on June 14. Jan/Feb/March are the best months to be here (considered the windy months) as the summer can get pretty hot if you are not use to that kind of climate.
We now boast a beautiful stretch of beach along the front of the island. Swimming is concentrated at the North End or "Split", a popular spot for sunbathers and swimmers.
Most people that want to do serious snorkelling take a tour out to the magnificent Barrier Reef a half mile out. You can enjoy the underwater beauty of corals and an abundance of Marine life. There are no hotels on the island with a pool and frankly, you won't need it. If you are looking for upscale rooms, we have those with Iguana Reef, if you are looking for a nice clean room & private bath, check out Chateau Giselle, if you are looking for budget, check out the hostel. With the beauty of the island and the sea, one spends little time in a room at all.
Probably by tomorrow I will have a new site up for Dolphinbay which will carry a lot of current photos of the island for your viewing. Keep checking this site and I will post the address later.
