I am coming to Caye Caulker for a day on a Carnival cruise and am looking for information on the island. I am looking for the best place on the island to relax on the beach with good drinks nearby, or at least the ability to bring some Belikin with us, and be able to swim or snorkel right off the beach. I am not worried about how great the snorkeling is, I just would like to go right off the beach without having to take a snorkeling trip. Also, if anybody has any recomendations on the best places to eat, and places to pick up souvenirs, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your help.

You can swim right off the beach at the split It's a 10 min walk from the main peir. You can also get a cold drink and lunch at the lazy lizard bar at the split.Check with Ralf for hand made gifts.

I went there on a Carnival Cruise line and went out with this young guy and his cousin and they were AMAZING. They showed us around where the reef was and also took us to Shark Ray Alley. We went to essentially 3 different "carnival" tours. I wish I could remember his name. All you have to do is take the water taxis which is right down the road maybe a half a mile from the where the boat drops you off. It is well worth the trip and the people are all FANTASTIC.
You must go to Caye Caulker. I am itching to go back.

I found the food at Rainbow Grill and Bar to be VERY good...and reasonable. Try the conch fingers....they're great!
