Thanks for posting this! The Karaoke competition went very successful and lots of Caye Caulker villagers are clamoring for such an event to take place again in the future as it was a family-oriented event. First place winner went to Mr. Mole and second place was handed down to Franklin Amaya...all in all we have to give kudos the the Caye Caulker Village Council and also Caye Caulker Neighborhood Watch Program for having organized such an event. Thank you to Raul Gutierrez for providing the karaoke free of cost and also to DJ Julian for spinning the tunes for the remainder of the night!! We need to do that again and soon!

Was the event a fundraiser for neighborhood watch? Would love to find out more details as we had an idea for Ambergris Caye neighborhood watch groups conduct the contests and their "winners " would compete for a grand prize winner.

That is right, the fundraiser was done specifically for this purpose. It was a fun-filled event had by all and villagers are already asking for a similar event to take place in the near future.

If you require karaoke services, Raul Gutierrez is based in San Pedro and he can be contacted at: 610-4280.

Sounds like a fun day! Can you tell if there was an entry fee? Tickets to the event? Who donated the prizes? Was it a successful fundraiser?

This might be a model we could duplicate here - my husband runs Karaoke for several places on the Island, so we would not charge a fee.

Entrance was free and no tickets were involved. It was definitely a successful fundraiser and there are already plans in the near future to hold another :-)
