The big bang from Keith is the drop in employment for the hand to mouth
crowd. And by the looks of it -- the rebuild in SP and CC will take up that
slack big time!!

and for those guys to get goint -- they need cash -- like in loans -- not
gifts -- until the insurance comes through.

Or cash for the local islanders that are not rich -- living in traditional
island style -- but have lost their little house.

And for these people it is some lumber, some posts and some zinc.

You could get some one to identify these people properly and arrange the
purchase here for their building supplies. That would be the biggest help
of all.

but probably even that is not needed - they will be back working now --
earning an income -- or should be.

The deal is to get the money flowing for reconstruction -- that puts
everyone on an even keel again.

From What I've Read...
Hey gang,
Terribly sorry you're all going through what you are...I was never there during an emergency, but can attest to having had to go without water, telephone and electricity until BEL, BTL and WASA had the $$$ & paperwork shoved down their throats. I hope all those folks I left in San Pedro are alive and well.
From what we here in the States have been reading on your limited E-posts, the authorities and business are not coordinating very well to accomplish the tasks necessary.
If you really want to get anything delivered down there, without paying through the nose to both the Customs or the privateers(i.e. cash, portable supplies, unavailable items), you have to either bring them in by land from Mexico/Guatemala, or carry them down there yourself. Said Musa and the rest of the hierarchy could circumvent these 'duty' problems with a signature if they so wished; but unfortunately for you, it's business as usual for them...worried that they'll miss a buck, I suppose.
Other than cash, if there are specific items that you are in dire need of that I can try and import to help, post them here and I'll see what I can do...
Luck and prayers,
Emile
