We had about 45 folks here last night, imagine, a full house in October!

We simply asked all the guests for
donations for the following: the caves branch rescue team, the Belize cave and
wilderness rescue team is heading down south tonight with 20 trained members
and 3000 gallons of fresh water and 4500 lbs of food to the most remote
villages that were destroyed by the hurricane last night. we will be providing
medical services to about 4 villages most effected, distributing and cooking
food and fresh water.

We'll be down for about two weeks until NEMO gets around to taking note of
them all. .. talk at you then.

Wonderful news - let us know how they are doing in Toledo villages and what they need.
I have a stash of 40 pairs of flip flops - not much but was saving them for the kids in the villages that always run out of shoes. Let me know if I should send them and to where or whom. Bless you all for your prompt help - wish I could come.

Way to go Ian!

For those that don't know, Ian Anderson runs Caves Branch Jungle Lodge,
just south of Belmopan. He and his wife, Tangi, are super folks...great
for Belize.

His mountain rescue course is nothing to laugh about. Recently some
British soldiers thought they would take a little "holiday" and go out
to do Ian's basic rescue course. After several 16 hour days, they
declared that this was a very advanced course. Ian's bread and butter,
however, is the tourism business of taking people on some of the most
fascinating cave trips you can imagine. They run one of the best tours
I've ever been on in the mainland of Belize.

It's people like them that keep the tourism product in this country
strong. If you can't do anything else, send Ian and his crew your "Atta
Boys". If you want to donate to Ian's crew and their relief effort,
contact Marty for info. It would be relief money put where the rubber
meets the road.
