"For this year, it's going to be a special celebration. In 1 way, we are going to commemorate the 10th anniversary of - unfortunately - the terrorists' attacks in the US. So the Central American Countries and Mexico are going to have a special day that they are honoring the victims of those attacks, especially because some of the victims were Mexicans and Central Americans. And at the same time, its the 30th anniversary of the Independence of Belize."

"What type of entertainment is going to take place on Sunday?"

Marcelino Miranda
"There will be cultural presentations from many countries. Those kind of presentations are going to be especially traditional dances and music from the different countries, like for example Guatemala, Honduras, Belize, and Mexico, are presenting different groups. And at the same time, at the beginning of this festival, we are going to have an official commemoration of the Central American and Mexico, along with the Belizean Independence. So this is going to be an official ceremony with special presentation of the flags of all these countries. And at the same time, we are going to have messages by the Ambassadors of the Central American Countries and Mexico. At the end of these official presentations, we are going to have Supa G to close the event. Alongside, we are going to have traditional food from the different countries, and we are going to have food and drinks, and some activities for the children. So this is going to be a family event. The organizers want to acknowledge the special support by the Government of Quintana Roo, who has been very supportive along all these 4 years. The Government of Quintana Roo has provided the stage - a big stage - for this festival. And also, the Mexican groups are going to be presented."

The festival, which starts at 4 P.M., is free to the general public.
