A group of Belizeans living in Miami, headed by Teddy Gonzalez, today announced its first Exposition entitled "A Touch of Belize 2000", to be held at the Aventura Mall in Aventura on Saturday, September 16 from 10:00 am to 9:30 pm.

Through this expo the group will be promoting Belize, its tourism destinations, facilities, and cultural diversity.

Participants include The Belize Tourism Board, Cayo BTIA, San Pedro BTIA, Nekton Dive Cruises, Grupo Taca, American Airlines, Belizean and US Tourism Wholesalers.

Visitors to the expo will be treated to entertainment by Garifuna dancers from Dangriga headed by Phyllis Miranda-Cayetano, The Benque Viejo Marimba Band headed by Emilio Castellanos, and performing artist Jimmy Lee, aka Nonno Lee, from New York. Also being displayed is a wide array of Belizean products and items of culture.

According to Mr. Gonzalez, A Touch of Belize is targeting the approximately 20,000 daily visitors to the Aventura Mall, as well as Belizeans living in south and central Florida, which includes greater Miami and Fort Lauderdale, Orlando, Tampa, and West Palm Beach.
