Actually, Bredda Roy and Smell Shit were the same person. He sold sweets and fruits from his cart in front of Holy Redeemer, which is where Distributors was. I remembered the fudge was very good. One of us would yell "smell shit" and Bredda Roy would chase after that one while one or more stayed behind to tief his fudge or orange.

Nice and Nasty was the Mexican guy who lived on King Street between Far West Street and Euphrates Avenue. I remember that he was married to or living with a Belizean lady we called Miss Helen. He made the best pork tacos in Belize at that time. I think they called him nasty simply because he pulled the pork with his fingers as he was making the tacos. Don't know how much different that is that pulling the pork at home and having it ready to serve once you hit the streets. I don't remember him being at bridge foot as much as I remember him always being in front of Barclay's Bank. When I worked at Bata, we'd always get our lunch from him.

And let's face it folks. Back in the day, I don't remember anyone getting sick or dying from the food we bought off the streets in Belize, and we all know there was a little bit of everything mixed up in there.
