Hey all! Our film is playing at the Belize Film Festival tomorrow night (Saturday, July 14th), and we hope you can make it! It's a comedic documentary, it's very funny, and it's recently received a bunch of awards (so other people like it as well -- not just us!).

Tickets can be purchased at the theater that night, or in advance at Holiday Hotel, Island Gear, or by calling 610-4327 - they'll deliver your tickets to you anywhere in town! As an added bonus, there will be no bridge toll that night for ticket holders.

About the film
In this first-of-its-kind crossover comedy, director Ben Popik brings together five comedy writers, and surprises them with a challenge: to each write fifteen pages of a movie, having read only the previous five pages of the script. They agree with one stipulation: if they write the movie, he has to make it. It's a comedy, a love story, a thriller, and a supernatural adventure all in one. Meanwhile, documentary footage of the writing process provides an inside look into the often-hilarious creative process, as well as the group dynamics that make collaboration between friends difficult.

The movie is rated "R" for casual swearing, but is otherwise appropriate for ages 10 and up. You can watch the trailer at: http://exquisitecorpseproject.com/trailer

We hope you can join us!

WONDEROUSLY FUNNY! The theatre filled up last night with well-dressed islanders; mostly following the edict to wear green. Ben was his usual charming casual self and Joanna was dazzling in her silver sequined dress.
After Mayor Danny Guerra gave the welcoming address the lights dimmed and the show was on. Weird is one word to describe this full length feature film. Creatively weird with never a dull moment. Ben Popik and his pals are not only writers but appeared to me to be wanna-be actors. The two main characters were well played out by professional actors.
One caveat: the word Belize was never uttered. Instead it was referred to as "the island." I did spot three island residents in non-speaking cameo roles; there may have been more.
This is a very entertaining film of which Ben & Joanna can be justly proud.
The after party was held at the Holiday Hotel with complimentary drinks and hors d'oeuvres. Ms. Celi outdid herself.
