Haunted and Hot the Halloween Celebrations Continue
It is not uncommon for some local businesses to do an annual event for a particular cause. This is the case with Wayo's Haunted beach house. Every year they make a big party with a haunted house on the beach to raise money for a charity. This year the party spanned two evenings, although Thursday was pretty much a "dress rehearsal" and final set up. I wanted to go to Wayo's this year but was unable to get there. I even saw Lara on her way last night and she did a rolling stop to ask if I was going. I told her I had other plans and continued riding south to home. Unfortunately not long after I got home my plans were cancelled to cancelled due to the other persons work issues surrounding a big upcoming wedding. Seciond day of the 2 day affair I could not go as last night was Red Cross Crazy Canucks Trivia night, I was there to represent San Pedro Branch. Thankfully Shirlee and George were planning to attend Wayo's and she said they would get a few pics for me to help promote it.

Halloween in San Pedro, Belize, 2015: It's Not to Be Missed - Part One
Last night was a beautywarm, rainless and BUSY! The town was hoping with parties everywhere, the Prime Minister of Belize, Dean Barrow, giving a pre-election speech in Central Park (on Halloween! in San Pedro!), fireworks and everyone out and about celebrating. My friend Steve, owner of Lola's Pub and co-owner of the new this season Stax Sunset Lounge & Cafe at Hol Chan Resort & Villas took some amazing photos of the goings-onand shared them with me at 2:03am. I wasfast asleep. THANKS STEVE!

Halloween in San Pedro, Belize, 2015: It's Not to Be Missed, Part Two
So many pictures of one of the biggest holidays in San Pedro and so. little. time. Halloween is historically an American holiday - but a party that allows people to dress up, eat candy, get creative and sexy and party? It's embraced everywhere. Especially Ambergris Caye.

Trashing Halloween in San Pedro is a barrel of laughs
We totally trashed Halloween this year. No, I didn't say we got trashed. I said we trashed Halloween. As in garbage. It is a big topic on the island these days because it is a big problem. As one guy would say, "Trash is huuuge!" So, to bring awareness to the problem, our First Friday Tres Cocos Roadside Trash Pick-up group decided to bring the trash to the people. Rose, Linda, Marie, Sue made beautiful gowns out of trash bags, Belikin beer tops, Crystal water bottles and the like. Thank you, especially, Bowen & Bowen for providing inspiration through all your disposable products which can be found on streets, lagoons, beaches and vacant lots all over Ambergris Caye. Christina dropped in as a very green Fairy Garbage Mother. The rest of the gang - Scott & Susan, Steve, Carmen and Wayne - went as trash cans. Not any trash cans. Reproductions of the ones that the San Pedro Town Council has promised us will be distributed north of the Sir Barry Bowen Bridge.

Holiday Hotel's Halloween Bash 2015 was EPIC!
The Holiday Hotel did it again, with another spooktacular Halloween bash held on Saturday, October 31st. The anticipated event is one of Holiday Hotel's biggest celebrations, attracting people from all over Belize and even internationally, who bring out their best masterpieces to impress. Ranging from elegant to the super creative, pretty and classic, to the bizarre, there were plenty of costumes, and, again, according to spectators, they surpassed expectations. A large crowd of onlookers gathered around the traditional orange carpet excited to see what this year's event would bring. Around 9PM, creative participants began sashaying down the carpet to a captive audience that marveled at the unique entrances. The prize for the Craziest, a $50 gift certificate courtesy of El Fogon went to Vic Murphy for his Rum and Coke costume. Best Make up went to Inez the Witch Doctor, and she took home two round trip boat tickets to Belize City (San Pedro Belize Express). The Manager's Favorite went to 'Friki Tiki,' who walked away with $100 gift certificate courtesy of Caprice Bar and Grill and three months membership at Train Station Fitness Club. Lisa's favorite went to Akasha, Queen of the Damned, with a prize of three bottles of Caribbean Rum and a $100 gift certificate from Wine de Vine. In the Best Couple competition, there were two prizes awarded. Best couple number two went to Lightning Couple, who won two round trip boat tickets to Caye Caulker on San Pedro Express, and Best Couple number one was Perlita and Jose Luis Zapata who walked away with a $100 gift certificate courtesy of Red Ginger. Best Group number one was Trash in the Can, and their prize was two cases of Belikin Beer (Bowen and Bowen), one bottle of champagne (LC Distributors), and a certificate to Yo Mama Yogurt place. Best Group number two went to the Dominos, who won a case of Belikin Beer courtesy of Bowen and Bowen and two bottles of champagne from LC Distributors. The Funniest award went to 'Hot Ducunu Salesman' who walked away with a $100 gift certificate courtesy of Wings. Most Elegant went to 'Kim Kardashian,' (Joana Popik) and she took a $100 gift certificate from Moondancer. Most Spectacular was the 'Las Vegas' costume, by Leonel Milan, and he won one- night stay for two with breakfast and guided tours at Chaa Creek Lodge. The Maya Warriors were awarded for the Scariest costume, with two round trip tickets to either Merida or Cancun Mexico, courtesy of Tropic Air. The top prize of the evening, Most Creative, was definitely a clear winner: Jurassic World! That grand prize included a $1,000 in cash courtesy of Holiday Hotel and two nights stay at Los Cocos Hotel in Chetumal, Mexico.

Halloween Party Selfies on Fleek at Holiday Hotel Bash
It was that time again for all the witches, mermaids, vampires and many more walk down the orange carpet at the annual Halloween Party inside Holiday Hotel. On Saturday, October 31, 2015, hundreds of spectators outside Holiday Hotel and those inside the party celebrated and enjoyed some of the most oustanding, funny and scary costumes that walked the island during the spookiest night of the year. It was a great halloween party to remember and most definitley full of selfie taking. Gerry Badillo of Ambergris Today (our selfie specialist) was on the scene to capture some of the best moments of the night.

Holiday Halloween Mashup
My night started out with pre party. Kendall had invited Lisa, Ronnie and a few others over. I donned my costume and was going to called my new regular taxi driver when Cowboy Doug texted me to come to Banana Beach and I then I could score a ride to town. The annual Holiday Hotel party is always a chart topper and this year, while the general public did not go as all out as usual, Jurassic park made the night. When Eiden announced a late comer, Jurassic theme music started to play and a 15 foot or so Dinosaur complete with scientists and guards holding ak47's came through the door it was a jaw dropping show stopper.
