In today's advisory, NEMO also advises organizers of events to consider postponing them. That advice has been taken all over the country - as far west as Benque Viejo where Area Representative Erwin Contreras has had to postpone his divisional and municipal endorsement conventions which was set for Sunday.

And in Belize City, the UDP has had to postpone what was going to be a hotly contested Municipal convention to decide the party's slate for City Council Elections. That was scheduled for Sunday and a new date will be announced later. And the September celebrations has also suffered a storm setback. The Celebration season was supposed to have gotten off to an exhilarating start with the National Song Competition which was scheduled for tomorrow night at the Memorial park. That has been tentatively re-scheduled for next week Friday.

One event that has not been postponed is the Cecile concert planned for Saturday night in Belize City. We called KREM Radio today and they told us that they still plan to go ahead with the show.

And to wrap up our storm advisories, BEL advises that you can report damages to the power system by calling BEL at 0-800-BEL-CARE or 0-800-235-2273. In the event of blackouts, the power Company will dispatch work crews to the field as soon as it is safe to do so, but if there are damages to the system, customers are advised to prepare for outages.
