The 6th Traveling Caribbean Film Showcase in BELIZE starts next week Monday, Nov. 3rd to Friday, Nov. 14th. ALL FILMS ARE FREE!! The Official program for the 6th Edition of the Traveling Caribbean Film Showcase is made up of 27 documentaries and 3 short animations that represent 13 countries throughout the Caribbean. It will screen over the course of two weeks in Belize City with screenings for the first week taking place at the Leo Bradley Library's AV Room from Mon. Nov. 3rd to Friday Nov. 7th and the second week at the Bliss Centre for the Performing Arts from Mon. Nov. 10th to Friday Nov. 14th. In both places, the screenings are scheduled to take place from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. During the same time period, additional public screenings have been scheduled to take place at the various Libraries and Houses of Culture in the other 5 districts as well as individual screenings at schools and other established institutions.

The Official Opening of the Showcase will take place on Monday, Nov. 3rd at 6 p.m. at the Leo Bradley Library in Belize City and will feature two documentaries from Nicaragua: Al Son de Miss Lizzie (18 mins), directed by Illeana LaCayo and The Black Creoles (85 mins), directed by Maria J. Alvarez and Martha C. Hern�n. In both films, the characters, language and music bear significant resemblance to our own Belizean Creole culture.
