Inspire Gala - A Party with a Purpose
The community of Ambergris Caye got together to support the fundraiser as local businesses donated of their time, resources, food and beverages that were all donated towards raising funds for the worthy cause. First Lady of Belize Kim Simplis-Barrow hosted the Inspire Celebration Fundraiser that took place on June 18, 2016, at the Mahogany Bay Village - Curio Collection by Hilton in San Pedro Ambergris Caye.
"We dress in white for hope tonight," commented Mrs. Kim Simples-Barrow as she addressed the attendants of the fundraiser. "Hope for the children of Belize who need our assistance." The Inspiration Center was founded in 2014 by Belize's Prime Minister's wife to help some of the most vulnerable children in Belize.
The celebration was a complete success, the Great House at Mahogany Bay Village was alive in the spirit of celebration and giving on its inaugural event. Attendees were entertained with music, food, drinks and also made donations in the form of raffles and silent auctions that took place during the course of the evening. Local businesses also presented monetary donations and all proceeds of the evening went towards the Inspiration Center.

Celebrating Inspiration and Points for Pineapples
The "Inspiration Celebration 2016" which took place Saturday night, June 18th and raised a substantial amount of money for First Lady Kim Simplis Barrow's charity that helps disabled Belizean children receive physical therapy.
The first Lady and Prime Minister Dean Barrow were on hand, as were about 300 people in support of the cause. The evening was filled with good company, great food, drinks and dancing with all the proceeds going to the charity. Raffle prizes included a Louis Vuitton bag, Tropic Air tickets to the mainland and Cancun, a stay at Ka'ana Resort, tour gift certificates and a round-trip flight and hotel at Martha's Vineyard.
The event's food and beverage came from twelve different delicious Belizean restaurants, including Elvi's Kitchen, Victoria House, Bel Campo, Farmhouse Deli, and Rojo Beach Bar. We started on the front veranda with The Farmhouse Deli then Rojo who were stationed near our table. Afterwards we were all invited upstairs for the main meal options served by all the other restaurants.

Inspiration Center Fundraiser raises over $100K
Wearing their finest all-white ensembles, guests made their way to the Great House at Mahogany Bay Village, Curio Collection by Hilton, where a night of fundraising for the Inspiration Center took place. Despite a call for rain, the Saturday, June 18th night was clear and perfect, just right for a night of honoring some of Belize's most vulnerable, our children. Funds are needed to sustain the outpatient rehabilitation center in Belize City, which aids children with disabilities from all over the country, including Ambergris Caye.
While the bar provided refreshing drinks, the kitchens of Victoria House, Rojo Beach Bar, Ambergreens Aquaponics, Taco Shack, BelCampo, El Fogon, Ian Anderson's Caves Branch and Elvi's Kitchen served delicious food. The Tequila Shooters band provided great live music, and during breaks, talented DJ Dzl spun tunes to keep the dance floor filled till the wee hours of the morning.
There were silent auctions up for bidding, and thanks to the generous attendees, many were bid to full value. Cash donations were plentiful, and at the end of the evening, after the final tally, over $100,000 was raised for The Inspiration Center. The non-profit organization joins its little patients in thanking all the hard-working volunteers, sponsors and everyone who attended for their contributions.
